KANAV Special Needs Sevices is a multifaceted company which focuses on the child care for typically developing children through Bitsy Buds Day Care Centre and services for the children with special needs and adults to improve their quality of life.

KANAV foresees that helping and guiding parents much before the child sees the world will reduce the risk of speech and language delay and help in better cognitive and emotional development of the child. Hence, provide counseling and guidance for parents during the natal and postnatal education for early stimulation of the child which will equip the child to meet the demand of the world.

Our goal is to prevent the problem, identify the presence of any communication difficulties, assessment, providing right diagnosis and appropriate therapy services. As a whole, including them as a part of the society and enhancing their quality of life.

Karthik Madras Kamaraj is an independent learning support (inclusive) coordinator currently working towards digital cognitive accessibility and assistive technologies to ensure differentiated access for all students and adults with and without disabilities. He is also a trained Educational Technology Consultant who is keen in Developing Assistive Softwares, Virtual Reality Simulation for people with special needs. He is an affiliate with Forebrain Sound Technologies. His deep passion to work with special needs insisted him to comeback to India to work with children. Following which, he had been working for a Non-Government organization as Inclusive Education Co-ordinator at Amar Seva Sangam, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India and as Special Education Teacher at Srishti special school, Chennai, Tamilnadu India. He started fostering inclusion through developing necessary pedagogical skills among general education teachers, resourcing curricular adaptation materials specifically for students with special needs, creating inclusive awareness among parents and professionals through directing dramas.

Navitha Ulaghanathan is a qualified speech and language pathologist with more than seven years of professional experience. She is a registered member of Rehabilitative Council of India (RCI), Life Member of Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA) and Life Member of Laryngology and Voice Association (LVA). Navitha had received a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences and a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from the top university, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, University of Mysore, India.

Navitha is also a trained in Floortime therapy approach, Talk tools approaches .She has extensive experience in various areas of the speech, language and hearing disorders/mechanisms including Child language disorders, Cleft lip and Palate, Voice and resonance disorders, Articulation, Neurogenic Disorders, and Social Pragmatic disorders. Navitha’s special interests include treating individuals with voice, resonance, articulation, fluency and children that have language and learning disabilities, expressive and receptive language delays, and limited social skills. Her experience in the field is a result from working in private schools, public schools, Non-government organizations, and medical and private practice and educational settings.

Navitha had also serves as an Assitant professor and clinical supervisor for the Department of Speech Language Pathology at SRM Medical college hospital, SRM University, in India. She had worked for Smile Train New York based projects, providing care for children with cleft lips and palates, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, India. She is a trained Cleft speech pathologist and was involved in training fellow speech pathologist across country. She also has deep interest towards research and has presented in various national and international conferences.

Welcome to Bitsy Buds Day Care Centre ! My name is Prakalathan Kelaver, and I am honored and privileged to serve the students, staff, and parents as the virtual principal and Chief COnsultant at Bitsy Buds Day Care Centre.. They are embraced by a community of teachers, administrators, and parents who ensure Bitsy Buds is a place where children “feel safe, are loved, and enjoy learning.” Our day care centre continues to strive toward excellent student achievement in a positive and caring environment.

A common thread throughout our school is the strong teaching staff and support personnel. We are very fortunate to have an incredible group of teachers and therapists who work collaboratively to ensure we meet the needs of all our students. All of the support personnel care deeply for the health and welfare of our students. Together they are a team of caring individuals who everyday strive for our children to be good students and citizens.

Children are the priority at Bitsy Buds Day care Centre. Student achievement is our primary goal, which is met through various teaching strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of our students. Mr. KARTHIK R. RAO, Developmental Physiotherapist

Karthik R. Rao is a Developmental Physiotherapist with more than 16 years of experience in working with children with special needs. He has many certifications in Pediatric Therapy including Sensory Integration (USA, 2006), Aquatic Therapy and Handwriting Without Tears.

He has 9 + years of experience in the prestigious THE SPASTICS SOCIETY OF TAMILNADU (SPASTN) in various capacities as a Therapist, Course Coordinator, HOD and Senior Manager. He is a Master Trainer and has conducted more than 70 in-person workshops in different parts of the country. He was invited as a Resource Person by Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat in 2014. He has also been one of the course writers for Early Childhood Special Education for Cerebral Palsy (ECSE-CP) by the prestigious Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He has a private clinic named Shrishti Therapy Centre, OMR, Chennai.

Mr. Karthik is associated with Kanav as a well wisher and advisor. He brings years of experience in working with children and their families and gives a therapeutic touch to assistive technologies right from planning to user stories.

Mrs. K. S. Kalyani is a qualified Audiologist & Speech and Language Pathologist with four years of professional experience. She is a registered member of Rehabilitative Council of India (RCI), Life Member of Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA). She completed her Masters in Audiology & Speech Language Pathology from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, India. She is a gold medalist during her Undergraduate of Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP), SRM University, Chennai, India.

Kalyani is passionate about teaching, and has served as clinical supervisor and later assistant professor for three years in SRM Medical college, Hospital and Research center, Chennai, India. Her experience and exposure to varied conditions of professional voice users, speech sound disorders, fluency disorders, adult neurogenic and child language disorders have paved the way for her strong and dedicated clinical interest. During her tenure she was also actively involved in camp based out-reach activities targeting schools in rural areas and training for care-givers of the differently abled. Kalyani has an inclination towards medical speech language pathology. She is driven towards research and has presented papers in various forums, many of which have won credits. She had also undergone training in a beginner's course in Telespeech therapy.

Kalyani is an ardent learner of Carnatic music. She is also a voice over artist and has experience collaborating for private banks, international conferences, educational videos and apps.

Ms. Afraa Mariyam is a very young talented Speech Language Pathologist who completed her undergraduation from Nitte Institute Of Speech and Hearing, Mangalore. She is very passionate towards her profession with strong work ethics. She is keen to work in a stimulating environment that aids in attaining higher echelons in the ability to carry out identification, assessment, diagnosis and management of speech language related disorders. Her major field of interest is to work in children with speech and language disorders.

Ms Swetha James is a young and skilled Audiologist and speech language pathologist, a registered professional under Rehabilitative council of India. She completed her under graduation on Bachelor of Audiology and speech language pathology, securing first rank from SRM Medical college and research centre, Chennai, Tamilnadu. Swetha is extremely passionate about providing exceptional care and devising treatment plans for children with different communication disorders. She strives to be professional at all times to provide children with a structured and safe therapeutic environment. Her sphere of interest focuses on early intervention to have a significant impact on child’s communication, social and emotional development. She attended several national webinars and international conference on early intervention to maximise child’s potential towards inclusion and presented poster on the importance of early intervention of speech and language in children with communication disorders and syndromes.
