NIOS training

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS) was established in November,1989 as an autonomous organisation in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Mission :
  • 1. Providing relevant, continuing and holistic education up to pre-degree level through Open and Distance Learning System.
  • 2. Contributing to the Universalisation of School Education.
  • 3. Catering to the educational needs of the prioritized target groups for equity and social justice

National Institute of Open schooling Syllabus

Open Basic Education

  • The contents/lessons of the syllabus are transformed into interactive application software (app) using Multi-sensory learning approach. This software runs in windows, tablets and mobile phones.
  • Students with special needs perform uniquely based on their strengths and weaknesses. For example, some students may be great visual learners and some may be auditory learners. Hence, academic learning abilities may vary based on different modality of material presentation and feedback. So, designing lessons according to their unique needs is quintessential.
